Alberta Insurance Disputes

There are many ways to get help with a car-insurance problem. You can contact the Automobile Insurance Dispute Resolution Committee, the Alberta Ombudsman, the Alberta Superintendent of Financial Institutions and/or the Alberta Insurance Council.

Automobile Insurance Dispute Resolution Committee

The Alberta government’s 3-step dispute resolution process is designed for consumers who have a concern with their auto insurance premiums for mandatory coverage. It also assists drivers who allege unfair contractual practices by their insurer.

Visit Alberta Treasury Board and Finance for the Auto Insurance Rate Board. A General Insurance OmbudService brochure outlines the 3-step process for resolving premium disputes.
