Summary

We seek a senior, talented, dynamic individual with superior analytical skills and judgment capacities, proven leadership, strong financial skills and a solid track record to lead our Finance Department as Vice-President, Finance. An individual with a strong personal intergrity, work ethic and high degree of integrity, the candidate will have to be a team player with a big-picture perspective. The Candidate will become a member of IBC’s Senior Management team (SMC) and will be responsible for all financial functions including treasury, financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, investment management and internal controls.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide financial leadership and guidance to the Senior Management Committee (SMC) and assist in setting the organization’s overall strategic direction.
  • Responsible for overseeing all financial and fiduciary aspects of the organization including but not restricted to internal control, financial reporting, financial planning, budget, external audits, banking and financial policies and procedures, and pension management.
  • Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance.
  • Manage the preparation of cash flow reports, monthly financial statements and manage annual audited reports for IBC’s Board.
  • Manage the preparation of financial outlooks and financial forecasts.
  • Plan, direct and control the annual budgeting process.
  • Control and report the results of operations to IBC’s President and to the Board of Directors.
  • Establish and implement short and long range financial goals as well as establish policies and procedures for all operating divisions.
  • Establish and maintain sound relationships with financial institutions and other stakeholders (such as VP/CFO Finance at member companies).
  • Manage treasury functions.
  • Manage and provide leadership, guidance, directions and mentorship to the entire Finance department.
  • Establish and implement internal controls where and as needed.
  • Partake in Corporate Philosophy values and leadership to foster and build a healthy organisational culture.
  • Responsible for ensuring that IBC’s financial and fiduciary aspects are communicated to various groups in a transparent, timely, effective and accurate manner.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce or Economics and a professional accounting designation (CA designation preferable but CGA or CMA accepted).
  • Minimum of 15 years experience as a senior financial officer in private industry or non-profit association.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and various software applications, including Oracle Financials, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and databases.
  • Strong leadership, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Efficient public speaker capable of communicating and interacting at all levels.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in both written and oral presentations.
