Early Warning System - Pilot Period
Timeframe: April 5, 2010 - July 5, 2010
The pilot period refers to the phased introduction of the anomaly rules only. The industry will be fully involved and in production with the rest of the Early Warning System (EWS) effective early April 2010.
Initial set of rules
- Initially, the application will be released into production along with only the anomaly rules that are most pertinent to exhibit production, in order that the business intent of the remaining rules can be assessed and modifications made.
Why a phased approach to introducing rules?
- This strategy will allow IBC to ensure that the anomaly rules are functioning as originally intended from a business perspective individually and that the operational experience based on the volume of anomaly rules is manageable for the insurance companies and IBC on a day-to-day basis. IBC will phase in the rules as determined by the analysis of the results generated in production.
- All anomaly rules are expected to be in production by the end of the pilot period in early July 2010.
