In 2010, in partnership with the Federation of Canadian Municipalities, IBC recognized communities that have taken steps to adapt to severe weather, protect their citizens and reduce their vulnerability to storm and wastewater damage. The Watershed Awards shone a spotlight on important adaptation work that might otherwise go unnoticed, raising awareness and inspiring others to develop innovative ways to make their communities more resilient. A panel of judges chose winners from five regions across the country as well as a national award recipient. |
