Privacy Statement

Insurance Bureau of Canada (IBC) is the national trade association for non-government property and casualty insurers in Canada. The protection of individual privacy is an IBC priority and applies to both:

  1. Information that IBC collects directly from individuals; and

  2. Information under IBC's custody that is reported to IBC by various insurance entities – insurers, brokers and others.

Therefore, IBC has adopted a comprehensive management plan that addresses all aspects of information privacy and security, including accountability, authorization, data collection, usage and disclosure.

Website usage data

IBC uses Google Analytics as its 3rd party analytical tool provider which automatically collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses and website usage information from all visitors of the website. IBC uses Google Analytics to analyze this non-identifiable web traffic data in order to refine and optimize website design and service delivery.

Internet cookies (IBC Member Site only)

When you browse the internet, you will encounter a technology called "cookies".  These are small data files that are saved to your device when you visit websites and are commonly used to provide you with specific information from a website, and to provide the website's operator information about you.  Cookies are not generally used by IBC's public facing website. However, if you subscribe to any IBC services, cookies are used as part of the process to log onto the website, verify identity and maintain security.

IBC does not sell, give or trade its contact lists.
