Objective: 

The Project Manager is accountable for planning, leading, managing and coordinating cross-functional activities to deliver projects which achieve business objectives aligned with IBC’s strategic and operational goals.

​Duties & Responsibilities:

This individual will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects including management of scope, budget, risks, resources, timelines, supporting internal and external communications, leading of cross-functional project teams and be accountable for the overall success of their assigned projects.

  • Demonstrated project management skills and experience to manage multiple complex, projects under pressure to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements
  • Lead and coordinate activities of cross-functional teams to ensure that project goals and objectives are accomplished within agreed timeframe, funding parameters and in accordance with the defined objectives
  • Develop, execute, monitor and revise project plans of assigned projects to achieve business objectives as defined by the project sponsor
  • Solicit Sponsor guidance as appropriate to manage scope, timelines, risks, costs, etc.
  • Ensure that deviations from plans are proactively identified and work with team members and project sponsors to resolve issues that may impede progress
  • Ensure project risks and contingencies are identified, managed and risks are mitigated appropriately
  • Prepare project documentation including Project Charter outlining scope, objectives, benefits, costs and identification of key risks
  • Determine project staffing needs and work with department lead to ensure resources are available when required
  • Establish, lead and direct cross-functional project teams to achieve project goals and objectives through team building, motivation, delegation, supervision, and conflict resolution
  • Control and administration of project scope by following formal change control procedures within the scope of project budget and timelines
  • Identify and promote creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:  

  • University/College degree in project management, business/computer science or equivalent
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology
  • Experience in software development-related project management (3-5 years) in a full time project management role, leading and managing projects medium to complex in nature
  • Experience in Client/stakeholder facing roles
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal, organizational and planning skills
  • Experience managing multiple projects utilizing cross-functional teams with project budgets in excess of $1M
  • Experience managing external resources and vendors
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff and management  
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong problem solving and decision making skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changes in process, technology and techniques
  • Knowledge of MS Office and MS Project

Asset:

  • PMP Certification
  • Understanding of Microsoft Azure DevOps or TFS
  • Strong understanding of Security and Privacy concepts or experience on related projects a plus
