​Job Summary

The Senior Technical Analyst will be responsible for providing quality delivery of IT infrastructure services to meet and exceed SLA requirements, adherence to all IT procedures and security policies, creating and updating technical documentation, and ensuring the usability, performance and scalability of all IT Infrastructure services. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration, and support of network devices (Cisco switches and routers),  firewall devices (Checkpoint, Palo Alto, Juniper), and load balancing devices (F5 LTM, Citrix Netscaler)
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows services (DNS, DHCP, WINS, IIS, FTP/S,  SMTP)
  • Intermediate/advanced administration knowledge of ESX servers in a multi -tiered network environment.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows Server 2012-2016 Operating Systems, Email server (Exchange 2013, 2016).
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of multi domain, multi-forest Active Directory infrastructure (AD 2012, 2016)
  • Installation, configuration and administration experience with Citrix Desktop and Citrix Xenapp systems.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Enterprise SAN storage with specific knowledge of HP and IBM SAN.
  • Enterprise monitoring systems management as they relate to hardware and software fault detection, notification, performance capture and capacity management specific knowledge of Solarwinds.
  • Enterprise level backup infrastructure management with specific knowledge of HP Data Protector
  • Enterprise security software management with specific knowledge of Symantec ePO/McAfee anti-virus, SIEM, ATD, and MAR, RSA Netwitness, Forcepoint DLP, Cisco ISE.
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware (IBM X Series, HP ProLiant and DELL)
  • Installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft BizTalk services, Skype for Business.
  • Support of DOS, VBScript and or PowerShell scripting
  • Support of Windows performance and troubleshooting tools to perform root cause analysis, identification and remediation of server based hardware/OS/Layered software issues.
  • Provisioning & installation of SSL certificates for production and non-production web services/sites.
  • Support the use of system patching and software deployment (Microsoft WSUS, Microsoft SCCM, GFI LANGuard or similar Enterprise level software)
  • Working closely with other key IT departments such as, Development and Architecture, Customer Service and Quality Assurance, Project Management Office and Help Desk,  to support all phases of systems design, development, QA, deployment and transition to operations
  • Develop and provide long term technology roadmaps for server, storage and monitoring infrastructure technologies to support implementing service improvements and automation in the operations environment
  • Following best practices, continuously improve systems availability, performance and recoverability ensuring IT operational performance and availability meet or exceed agreed-upon SLA targets
  • Adherence to and recommend improvements to IT security best practices to continuously improve the security of infrastructure and systems
  • Develop and manage key relationships internally/externally, including the vendor community

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5+ years IT infrastructure experience in the areas of network, server, storage and monitoring
  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Knowledgeable in current IT trends and technologies, specifically in the Microsoft technology suite.
  • Experience in IT security
  • Customer service and satisfaction orientated
  • Strong technical leadership skills
  • Strong planning and organizational skills
  • Strong process, performance measurement and process improvement orientation, including experience in IT Enterprise processes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, senior executives and external stakeholders (industry, government, vendors)
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • ITIL certification is an asset
