The Facility Association is an entity established by the automobile insurance industry to ensure that automobile insurance is available to all owners and licensed drivers of motor vehicles where such owners or drivers are unable to obtain automobile insurance through the voluntary insurance market.

Facility Association invites applications from passionate and qualified candidates for the full-time permanent position as the Team Lead – Finance and IT in its Internal Audit and Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department. This is a supervisory role.

The primary objective of audits at Facility Association is to obtain reasonable assurance over the design and effectiveness of controls. Working out of our North York office, this position entails some travel throughout Canada. The position reports to the Senior Manager, Internal Audit and ERM.

The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills to successfully act as a change agent to improve internal processes and strengthen controls.  S/he will be a critical thinker with experience in automating processes and leveraging audit technology and analytics.  S/he will be comfortable designing and implementing new approaches to audit and will have experience in information technology project audits.  

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute audits in a professional and objective manner.
  • Evaluate effectiveness of controls using a risk-based approach.
  • Report audit findings and conclusions on a timely basis.
  • Recommend relevant areas for improvement.
  • Conduct exit meetings in a professional manner and provide objective feedback.
  • Conduct other audits or other assignments as required.
  • Manage multiple time lines and scheduling of travel Canada-wide. 

Qualifications:

  • CPA or other professional audit designation.
  • CISA or other professional information technology/systems designation.
  • Minimum of 5 years of audit experience in Canada.
  • Experience with data analytical software.
  • Must be proficient in Excel and Word software.
  • Experience working independently and in teams.
  • Valid driver's license.

Other Considerations:

  • CIP and/or FCIP, CIA designation.
  • University degree or college diploma. 
  • Familiarity with audit tools and software (TeamMate and ACL).
  • Familiarity with the Insurance sector.
