Facility Association invites all persons who are passionate about insurance and interested in exploring residual and hard-to-place automobile risk to apply for the permanent full-time position of Underwriting Analyst in the Underwriting, Claims & Operations Department.
The Facility Association operates as an independent unincorporated entity established to ensure the availability of automobile insurance to all owners and licensed drivers who are otherwise unable to obtain such coverage through the voluntary insurance market.
The primary objective of the Underwriting Team at the Facility Association is to oversee Risk Sharing Pool (RSP) Eligibility criteria, as well as administer the Facility Association Residual Market (FARM), by maintaining a thorough understanding of the Canadian Insurance Market to develop avenues for consumers to successfully (re)enter the voluntary market.
Reporting to the Director of Underwriting, the successful candidate will support the rate filing process, execution of projects and key tasks. As an integral part of the Underwriting Team, the Underwriting Analyst will provide support through:
- The creation and maintenance of reports;
- Ensuring underwriting manuals are up-to-date;
- Prepare various data-driven exhibits for Committee, Internal and External Stakeholder review;
- Act as a resource to establish parameters to obtain relevant data by way of surveys, researching emerging risks, review of legislative changes and track market activity in an effort to deepen the Facility Association’s understanding of residual auto risk to enhance the deliverance of the FARM and RSP mechanisms.
Located in downtown Toronto, the position may require periodic travel outside of the Province.
