Vice-President, Western Celyeste PowerCelyeste has an extensive background in public affairs and public policy across all sectors. As Vice-President for Insurance Bureau of Canada’s (IBC’s) Western region, she oversees and directs all government relations pertaining to the property and casualty insurance industry in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.She is also responsible for developing and implementing an effective advocacy strategy for key industry initiatives and priorities including efforts to maintain available and affordable insurance for consumers in Western Canada.Celyeste has held previous roles with IBC including national corporate spokesperson and Executive Director, Strategy and Member Engagement. Prior to joining IBC, she held several senior roles with the federal government including the Office of the PrimeMinister of Canada.An active community volunteer, she has donated her time to the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade’s Relay For Life, the United Way and helped to create Myositis Canada – an association that advocates for those suffering from various forms of this rare disease. Celyeste holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from the University of Ottawa and is continuing her studies toward the Chartered Insurance Professional designation.
