Solution Architect Department: Infomation Products, Technology and Services Location: 2235 Sheppard Avenue East, Toronto, ON Status: Full Time Posting Date: 2020-01-28T05:00:00Z Expiry Date: JOB SUMMARY:The Solution Architect will be responsible for security, design, delivery and support of all IT applications services. As a senior member of the IT organization, the Solution Architect will develop and champion IT architecture principles, application security, standards and processes within IBC. This role will also guide project teams in deploying appropriate secure solutions by participating in and validating requirements, determining solution alternatives, creating proof of concept and effort estimations. This role will provide context through which IT solutions are properly defined and designed while following cyber security industry best practices. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Build and maintain secure software solutions, analysing business requirements and incorporating industry standard design principles for Microsoft Technology platform .NET, SQL Server, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, ADFS, Biztalk, SharePoint, CRM, GP and AzureDevelop and maintain the application architectural framework for development teamsConduct design reviews and code reviews, coaching and guiding development teamReview and assist QA team with testing strategiesDefine, implement and maintain corporate security policiesEvaluate and recommend new tools and technologies, including developing evaluation process, and acceptance criteriaMaintain, communicate and enforce guidelines for industry recognized best practices and security standards for all aspects of data and application development effortsAssist Infrastructure Architect to design technology solutions that meet current and future technology requirements ensuring services are design appropriately and with security as a foundationDevelop business cases with cost estimates, adoption strategy, and rollout planAssist the support and operational team for root cause analysis, identification and remediation of application issuesWorking closely with other key IT departments such as, IT infrastructure, Quality Assurance, Project Management Office and Service Desk, to support all phases of systems design, development, QA, deployment and transition to operationsFollowing best practices, continuously improve systems availability, performance and recoverability ensuring IT operational performance and availability meet or exceed agreed-upon SLA targetsAdherence to and recommend improvements to IT security best practices to continuously improve the security of infrastructure and systems QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE:Minimum 7 years’ experience in designing and implementing IT solutions using Microsoft’s application technology stack; ADFS, WAPI, AD, .Net, SQL, SharePoint, CRM, GP, Azure Teams and Office 365Minimum 7 years’ experience in IT infrastructure in the areas of network, server and server virtualization, storage, monitoring, and load balancingMinimum 5 years’ experience in cloud technologies and services (SaaS, PaaS, IaaS)Experience in TOGAF Architecture CISSP certification or working to complete certificationExperience in cloud services/technology deliveriesExperience in waterfall and agile development methodologiesExperience managing and developing applications using Microsoft TFSKnowledgeable in current IT trends and technologiesCustomer service and satisfaction orientatedStrong technical leadership skillsStrong planning and organizational skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff, management, senior executives and external stakeholders (industry, government, vendors)Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills Please send résumé to:Human Resources Department Insurance Bureau of Canada Contact: Azan Khan E-mail: firstname.lastname@example.orgIBC is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for people with disabilities.
