Insurance Data Tools
We’re working to make quality data available to the P&C insurance industry, governments, regulators and consumers.
The Canadian Loss Experience Automobile Rating (CLEAR) system is used to determine car insurance premiums by assessing how likely it is that a specific passenger vehicle will be involved in a claim and what it will cost.
DASH is a policy and claims information system designed to provide detailed reports on a consumer’s auto insurance history, including policies, claims, and other relevant information used to provide an insurance quote.
Statistical Tools (GISA)
We’re working with insurance companies across Canada (excluding British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Quebec) to provide data collection, compilation and reporting services to the General Insurance Statistical Agency (GISA) as required under the Automobile Statistical Plan (ASP).
Health Claims Database
The HCDB standard report provides a timely and consistent statistical summary of medical and rehabilitation costs related to auto insurance claims.
Insurance Validation Program
Our digital Insurance Validation Program is currently used by Ontario and Newfoundland and Labrador governments to confirm that mandatory insurance coverage is in place.
Use our free VIN Verify service to check whether a vehicle has been reported as flood-damaged and non-repairable by participating IBC member insurance companies.
Governments use brand records to help protect consumers by ensuring proper repairs are made to salvage vehicles, by making stolen vehicles and parts difficult to resell and by helping police identify stolen vehicles.
Need to quickly validate the accuracy of a vehicle identification number (VIN)? Our convenient VINlink decoder online service can help save your insurance company time and money.
